What Is the SalesBuddy Hit List, and How Does It Actually Work?

The SalesBuddy Hit List is a curated, candidate-specific document listing 30 to 50 companies that are actively hiring for BDR, SDR, or AE roles matching a candidate's real background. It includes the direct application link, salary insight where available, and the specific person to contact at each company. It's one of three core deliverables inside SalesBuddy Academy, alongside a rebuilt resume and a custom interview script.
Why This Exists
Most job seekers spend the first two to three weeks of a search just figuring out where to apply. That time is usually spent before a candidate has done any real interview preparation, meaning the strongest weeks of momentum in a search get burned on logistics instead of positioning. The Hit List removes that step entirely.
What's Actually Included
Every Hit List is built individually, not templated. For each of the 30 to 50 companies listed, a candidate receives:
Confirmation the role is genuinely, currently open, not a stale or ghost listing (see How to Spot a Fake Job Posting Before You Waste Time Applying for why this filtering matters)
The direct application link
The name of a real contact at the company, matched to the role
Available salary insight for that position and level
When It's Delivered
The Hit List is built during Session 2 of the four-session Academy process, alongside a full LinkedIn overhaul and application strategy, so a candidate leaves that session with a resume, a LinkedIn profile, and a real, targeted list to start applying against immediately.
How It's Different From a Job Board
A job board surfaces postings. It doesn't tell you which ones are real, who to contact, or what the role actually pays. The Hit List is built specifically around one candidate's background and target level, not a generic keyword search, which is the same reason recruiter search behavior favors specific title and skill matches over broad applications, see What Do Recruiters Actually Search For When Filling a Sales Role?.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SalesBuddy Hit List?
A curated list of 30 to 50 companies actively hiring for sales roles, built specifically around a candidate's background, including direct application links, a named contact, and available salary insight.
When do SalesBuddy Academy candidates receive their Hit List?
During Session 2 of the four-session Academy process, alongside a LinkedIn overhaul and application strategy.
How is the Hit List different from browsing job boards?
Job boards surface postings without verifying they're genuinely open, without contact information, and without matching them to a candidate's specific background. The Hit List is built individually for each candidate and filtered for genuinely active roles.
Is the Hit List included in every SalesBuddy program?
It's a core deliverable of SalesBuddy Academy, alongside the resume rebuild and custom interview script.
